On top of a hill, surrounded by the tranquility of nature and with a view of the horizon. In a nutshell, this is the place where he runs the Center for Restoration of Life Mission in Cocalzinho / GO. The green walls with stress built house men who strive to leave behind a reality of suffering, addictions and lack the minimum necessary for a dignified life.
"We want the inmates feel at home and not see the recovery process as something painful and harsh. Cleanliness, organization, a clean bed and good food are essential to help these men over a period of rebuilding personal, "says president and founder of the institution, Rev. Gomes dos Anjos Wildo.
The Recovery Center is the largest nucleus Beggars of Life Mission, with a capacity of 240 inside the second phase of this program. After passing through the sorting centers, former beggars are brought into this nucleus, where they remain, on average, 5 months and receive dental care and outpatient services when necessary.
Always accompanied by the workers, the day of the inmates have a routine and pre-established schedules that must be met by all. "Having spent much time on the streets, inmates need to relearn how to take responsibility and meet schedules and meet standards," explains Pastor Arnaldo Soares, director of the Center for Recovery. With over twenty years experience, Pastor Arnold points out that the work is fundamental to good results in the process of recovery and rehabilitation.
Within the routine of the inmates are: a morning devotions, occupational therapies, leisure and sport and an evening worship, eventually replaced by a lecture or educational film. Four meals are served daily, and part of the products used are grown in the very core by rehabilitees. In addition to weekly visits allowed on Sundays, is held monthly at the Center for Family Recovery Worship, at which time the inmates and their visitors participate in special programming.
