The Beginning
At 13, a young man was touched by the plight of the homeless people he met on the way to work. In this sense, born of the friendship between the adolescent and the beggar and this was the seed of what would be the first Recovery Center Beggars in Brazil and, later, the Mission Life.
Wildo Gomes dos Anjos began the work of evangelism and distribution of soup to the homeless from the streets of Annapolis. It was a lonely stance, marked by faith and the desire to ease the pain of those men.
Although food and attention to the homeless, the young still uncomfortable with the situation of the beggars. "Lord, if you really love these people and cares about them, use my life to help them." This was the prayer of Wildo Gomes dos Anjos, and from that moment on, God would change many lives, including his.
"It's very easy to speak of God's love, if only out of here, you go home, sleep in a warm bed." This review of a beggar was like a bucket of cold water. But despite the harshness of the words, Wildo agreed with him. Both decided to find a way to get those people off the street.
The first action was to seek institutions that receive beggars. There was no specific job in Brazil then decided on his salary, renting rooms in boarding houses to shelter them. It was a noble gesture, but impractical because of lack of resources and the difficulty of people living with ex-beggars.
Needed alternative. With the money saved up to buy a car, and the hand labor of beggars who had already left the streets, decided to build a venue for 12 men.
The initial difficulties were many. Lacked everything from a shower to help people interested in this work, todavida, had left the faith and disposition. Despite the workload and responsibility, Wildo believed that God would supply all the needs. And God was faithful.
The first Recovery Center Beggars in Brazil was inaugurated in September 1983 Life and the Mission was founded and recognized as a municipal public utility.
Besides working with beggars, the institution began to develop assistance activities aimed at the poor.
Overcoming all the difficulties and the initial disbelief of many people, the Mission Life grew and consolidated itself as an important institution across the national territory.
Doors were opened by God and the support came from all over Brazil. Maintainers and intercessors joined the founder of the institution and the projects were gradually being realized.
